We went on Wednesday for member day: 20% off + $0.99 specials! It was pretty crowded though, so expect a wait🥹 The fresh duck blood was SO tender and flavorful，we finished two plates! Definitely recommend the mild spicy broth. Our must-orders: thick-cut marbled beef, beef tongue, black tripe, chicken feet, shrimp paste, and bamboo fungus. The thousand-layer tripe was only $0.99 on Wednesday too! The sauce bar was great，loved the lychee, purple rice porridge, and especially their fragrant sesame oil dipping sauce.

I was excited to check this place out after seeing it on google. Dined here with my partner in the afternoon. When we arrived and sat down the place wasn’t full, only two tables plus us. The waiter that sat us was pleasant enough when speaking to us, asked if we’ve had Hot Pot before and explained how it works as they do. Though when we ordered our food we had missing item (noodles/ramen we ordered). the waiter didn’t provide us with the correct bowls or utensils even though she clearly saw we didn’t have any because she had no issue staring from afar. we ended up using the bowls our ingredients and veggies came in since we assumed it was an accident and they just forget to provide their customers with the proper bowls at a soup restaurant, that’s okay! As I went up to the ingredient station another worker that was there had no issue showing her attitude rolling her eyes. luckily we didn’t have to deal with her too much. Waiter barely helped us after ordering, she only came up to us to ask if we wanted desert in a tone that only indicated that she wanted us to start checking out despite being there for less than an hour. Came for the broth, stayed because my coat smelled like it for three days Look, I walked into Shoo Loong Kan on 13th St not knowing what I was getting myself into, and I walked out a changed person. A slightly spicier, sweatier, happier person. The Sichuan broth is absolutely unhinged in the best way — my face was on fire, my soul was ascending, and I kept going back for more like an absolute maniac. They give you an apron, which I initially thought was unnecessary, and then immediately proved to be the most important garment I've ever worn. The sauce bar? A masterpiece. I spent like 10 minutes constructing my dipping sauce with the focus of someone defusing a bomb. Worth it. The wagyu beef melted so fast in the broth I almost missed it — blink and you lose your $$$, but it was absolutely worth every penny. Fresh ingredients all around, lively atmosphere, and the staff were genuinely helpful even when I pointed at things on the menu like a golden retriever. Pro tip: make a reservation if you're coming with a group. This place is right near Union Square and people clearly know what's up.

I had such a wonderful experience at this hotpot restaurant! From the moment we walked in, the staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive. They patiently explained the menu, helped us choose the best broth combinations, and made sure our table was always stocked with fresh ingredients. The quality of the food was outstanding. The broth was rich and flavorful without being too salty, and you could really taste the depth of the spices. The meat was thinly sliced and very fresh, especially the beef and lamb. I also loved the wide selection of vegetables, mushrooms, tofu, and seafood — everything looked clean and beautifully presented. The sauce bar was another highlight. There were so many options to customize your dipping sauce, which made the whole experience even more fun and interactive. It’s perfect for both small gatherings and larger groups because everyone can cook at their own pace. The restaurant itself was clean, cozy, and comfortable, with good ventilation (which is so important for hotpot!). Overall, it was a delicious and enjoyable meal. I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending it to friends!

Our server obviously had an issue and was passive aggressive the entire time. Maybe because we took pics for this review. Who knows… She kept bringing one of everything, even though we needed minimum 2…. Though 3 would’ve been best. Case in point, one of us had spicy broth and the other didn’t. Common sense would dictate we would need 2 tongs to pick up the meats etc so as not to cross contaminate. She didn’t give us any and when we asked she brought one. We had to go ask for another which she rolled her eyes to. The food was ok, but the chicken is chunky so when boiled it gets clumped and tasted weird. I know many countries have their versions of HP, but I think I’ll skip this one… Everything else was potentially tolerable, but giving plastic utensils to use in hot pot should not be a thing. It leeches chemicals into the food. The fact that they don’t have metal cutlery was surprising. I know this place has rave reviews, but is a no for me after that experience & to top it all off, they charge $3 for each person that uses dipping sauces which was uncalled for. Just checked the bill and I saw she charged us for 2 sauces even though it was only 1.
